The Awami National Party draws its inspiration from the example and teaching of FAKHR-E-AFGHAN Bachakhan (Khan Abdul Ghafar Khan). He spent his entire life in the struggle for freedom and justice.During this struggle he spent more then thirty three years in prison including fifteen years in British rule and eighteen years after the creation of Pakistan.He and his khudai khidmatgars offered great sacrifices in the fight against colonialism,inperalism and all other kinds of oppression.
